About a year ago I was challenged to actually do something about the poor air quality in Prince George. I resolved to reduce my burning and decided to write letters to the local newspapers.

Judging from the response of a few pro-burners these letters must be having some effect. If just one person has been persuaded to stop burning I would consider my effort a success. Of course if more take up burning in reaction I apologize.

These letters have actually been enjoyable and have grown into somewhat of a passion. I realize that the concept of air quality is in the same class of concepts like “love” or “God” since breathing is so important for life.

There are many opinions and ideas that can be developed and debated. I imagine that hundreds of letters are possible and I will probably continue writing.
