Despite some nostalgic exceptions the horse and buggy days are over for urban areas. Wood burning should also be over for towns and cities.

Modern vehicles have had a century of improvement in replacing the horse and buggy. Electricity and natural gas has also been developed as a modern, efficient means of heat with very little particulate pollution. These improvements have made both wood burning and the horse and buggy obsolete.

Notice how wood powered steam locomotives are long gone and there are no pellet fired vehicles. Except for a few remote rural uses wood heating is unacceptable. Wood burning is unhealthy and should be banned for any house that is within sight of another.

A wood fire should be an occasional exception and used only in honour of the good old days. Clean air is a must for a modern, fulfilling and healthy life.
